[See Hatting citation. - [S606] J.L. (Leon) Hattingh, "A.J.
"Anthony from Guinea (14) sold together with a garden by Cornelis Linnes, an official, to the Free Burgher Willem van Wijck, but Willem had to promise to free the slave ("Anthoni en dat tot toegift van seecker gekochte thuijn belovende hem te
No date for the attainment of freedom stated in the document".
- [S418] Anna J. Böeseken, Slaves and Free Blacks at the Cape 1658-1700, p. 143. 26.10.1685, p. 127: Isabel from Madagascar (12-13), sold by Oliver Cranisbough to Cornelis Linnes.
