BirthOrigin*Benjamin was from Bengal and may have been born there in 1677/78. Van Bengale - or from Bengal - was a term loosely applied during the period of VOC dominance to enslaved or formerly enslaved people from any of the countries bordering the Bay of Bengal.1 
Slave TransactionsOn 11 May 1688 Benjamin van Bengale was sold by Martin Clasen Buijck to Cornelis Pietersz Linnes, for Rds. 30.2
