I have assumed this to be the same individual purchased as Christoffel van Trancquebare 10 months earlier.21 On 30 November 1697 Claas van Madagascar was sold by Jan Kotze to Pierre Simond, for Rds. 110.22 On 26 February 1698 Aran van Trancquebare was sold by Jan Kotze to Pierre Simond, for f 330 the payment of which was deferred to 1 March 1702.
