BirthOrigin*Aran was from Trancquebar and was perhaps born there circa 1678. He was said to be 19 years old in 1697.1
Names in the record, in publications, etc.26 February 1698, the name of Aran was written in the record as Aron van Madras, I have assumed this to be the same individual purchased as Aran van Trancquebar by Cotse in 1697. Corrections welcome.2
Slave TransactionsOn 6 January 1697 Aran van Trancquebare and Christoffel van Trancquebare were sold by Jan Pietersz: van Vleugel to Jan Cotse, for Rds. 80 each.3
On 26 February 1698 Aran van Trancquebare was sold by Jan Kotze to Pierre Simond, for f 330 the payment of which was deferred to 1 March 1702. I have assumed this to be the same individual purchased as Aran van Trancquebar by Cotse in 1697.2
