(Passenger) ShipVoyage On 26 December 1666 Adrianus de Vooght and Anna van der Meer sailed on the Handelaar from Amsterdam to the Cape where it arrived on 10 May 1667.5,6
OccupationHe was (an unknown value) between 10 May 1667 and 18 February 1674 (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.5,7
(Passenger) ShipVoyage On 18 February 1674 the Zijpe and Gekroonde Vrede, left the Cape enroute to Batavia where they arrived on 12 May 1674. Among those on board one of the vessels were Adrianus de Vooght and Anna van der Meer.8,9
Names in the record, in publications, etc.17 May 1676, the name of Adrianus was written in the record as Adriang de Vooght.10
Baptisms - WitnessOn 17 June 1669 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop, Adrianus de Vooght performed the baptism of Elsje van de Caep.11
He and Anna van der Meer witnessed the baptism of Henrick Crudop on 11 September 1672 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.12
He and Jan Brjtlas and Anna van der Meer witnessed the baptism of Joannes Durant on 11 December 1672 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.13
Slave BirthsCirca June 1665, Sijbilla van de Caep was born in bondage and was owned by Adrianus de Vooght de Caep de Goede Hoop.14,15
Before 20 October 1669, Catharina Opklim was born in bondage and was owned by Adrianus de Vooght de Caep de Goede Hoop.16
Slave TransactionsOn 17 April 1669 Abraham van Angola was sold by the Company to Adrianus de Vooght, for Rds 100 which had already been paid in November 1668. The transaction was authorised by the Commander, Jacob van Borghorst, seer instantelijck tot er coopen eener Comp slaeven tot sijner nootsaeckelijckheijt versoght ende d’ E Comp tamelijck daer van versien is. A condition of the sale was that he not be removed from the Cape, or sold to anyone else, without the prior approval of the Company Commander.17,18,19
Thomas van Bengale was sold on behalf of Gillis van Breen by Cornelis Zwart to Adrianus de Vooght on 30 September 1671, for Rds. 70.20,21,22
On 16 January 1672 Thomas van der Kust was sold by Adriang de Vooght to Henrik Crudop.23
On 26 February 1672 Florinda van Jafnapatnam was sold by Adrianus de Vooght to Nathaniel Goethardt, for Rds 70 and may have left the Cape on the Hollantsen Thuyn with her new owner.24
On 29 March 1672 Jacob van der Kust Coromandel was sold by Jurrian Hendrik Willinghs to Adrianus de Vooght, for Rds. 60. It was not uncommon that VOC officials returning to Patria from the east, brought slaves with them to trade, or travelled with their personal slaves as far as the Cape where the slaves were sold. Slaves taken to the Netherlands were automatically free on arrival.25,26
On 29 March 1672 Cupido van Bengale was sold by Lambert van der Heijden to Adriang de Vooght, for Rds. 45.27,28
On 4 April 1672 Claes van der Kust was sold by Admiral Joan Barra to Adrianus de Vooght, for Rds 70.29,30
On 15 February 1674 Jacob van der Kust Coromandel was sold by Adriang de Vooght to Hinrich Crudop, for f 200. This is most likely Jacob, the slave said to be from the Coromandel coast, and purchased by De Vooght in 1672 under the name Jacob van der Kust Coromandel.31,32
On 15 February 1674 Cupido van Bengale was sold by Adriang de Vooght to Rudolphus Meerlandt, for Rds 50. Even though his age given in this transaction, 16, does not align with that given in 1672, 10, I believe this is the same individual.33
Slave EmancipationsLauwrens van Paliacatta was emancipated by Adriang de Vooght, on 18 April 1679, on condition that for two years, he serve Henrik Crudop.34
Slaves owned by individualsOn 20 October 1669 Cathrijn van Bengale was owned by Adrianus de Vooght.35

"27.1.1671 … Sijlbilla (5½), child of Abraham from Guinea who belonged to Elbert Dircx Diemer, and of Catharina, the slave of Adrianus de Vooght manumitted,…"
"Thomas from Bengal (25), sold by Cornelis Zwart from Amsterdam on the Burgh van Leiden on behalf of the Rev. Adrianus de Vooght to Gillis van Breen for Rds. 70"
