Slave TransactionsOn 29 March 1672 Jacob van der Kust Coromandel was sold by Jurrian Hendrik Willinghs to Adrianus de Vooght, for Rds. 60. It was not uncommon that VOC officials returning to Patria from the east, brought slaves with them to trade, or travelled with their personal slaves as far as the Cape where the slaves were sold. Slaves taken to the Netherlands were automatically free on arrival.4,5
On 12 April 1672 Isak van Bengale was sold by Jurrian Hendrik Willinghs to Henrik Crudop, for Rds. 70.6,7
On 14 April 1672 Claas Pixemael van die Malabarkus was sold by Jurrian Hendrik Willinghs to Johann Conrad von Breitenbach, for Rds 50.8,1
