Birth*Aletta van Hinloopen was born circa 1650 in Nederland.1

Marriage*She married Gouverneur Johan Bax in 1669 Batavia.2,1

Baptisms - WitnessAletta van Hinloopen is named as standing in for Deffoor Cornelissen and Joanna van Ommeren in the record of the baptism of Joanna Cornelia Leuwensen on 26 April 1676 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.1
She and Gouverneur Johan Bax witnessed the baptism of Wilhelm Maurits Croes on 5 July 1676 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.3
She and Henrik Crudop witnessed the baptism of Maria Valckenryck on 24 January 1677 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.4
Slave TransactionsOn 10 March 1676 Jacob Caste van Malabar was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Dirck Jansz Smient, Rds 95.5,6
On 31 October 1676 Andries Caste was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Gerhard Pieterszoon van der Bijl, for Rds 88. However, Andries appears to have returned to the ownership the seller's spouse.7,8
On 19 July 1678 Fransois van Malabar, Jobicque van Bengale and Pasquael van der Caep were sold by Aletta van Hinloopen, to Tobias Vlasvat, for Rds. 170. Pasquaal — the child of Jobicque and Francoise — was just one year old and Böeseken and Hattingh disagree on the interpretation of this transaction. Böeseken says a condition of the sale was that Pasquael was not to be sold and that he was to be freed at age 20; while Hattingh says he could be sold until age 20 and was thereafter to be freed. This latter interpretation appears to be more accurate, because Vlasvat sold Pacquael the following year imposing a similar condition to the sale.9,10
On 4 August 1678 Augustijn was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Jan van Leeuwarden, for Rds. 58.11,12
On 12 August 1678 Paul van Malabar was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Anthonij van Bengale, for Rds. 100. Ten days later, on 24 August, Antoni signed an acknowledgment of debt in the amount of f 300 relating to the purchase of Paul, i.e. 200% higher than originally recorded. He promised to pay as much as he could afford prior to the departure of Aletta van Hinloopen to Batavia, and send the balance with the outward bound fleet the following year.13,14
On 12 August 1678 Made was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Jan Wittebol, for Rds. 70.15,16
On 12 August 1678 Simon van Madagascar was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Gerhard Pieterszoon van der Bijl, for Rds. 80.17,18
On 11 October 1678 Abraham van Madagascar was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Herman Gresnigh, for Rds. 50.19,20
On 11 October 1678 Thomas van Malabar was sold by Aletta van Hinloopen to Theunis Dirks van Schalkwijk, for Rds. 60.21,22
