Monsterrollen and Opgaafrollen (Muster and tax rolls)After 25 January 1696 Pieter Robberts was enumerated on the opgaafrol (census/tax roll) in Stellenbosch, at number 0105, along with a wife Feytje van der Merwe. who is enumerated at 0105B. Also counted were three daughters, whom I have assumed to be Margareta Pasman, Trijntie Pasman and Sibilla Pasman. I have also assumed that somehow the four-month-old Roelifie Pasman was perhaps overlooked. The couple were subsequently enumerated with four daughters. Opgaafs were often taken early in the year following that of the stated year of enumeration, and this couple were clearly already married at the time they were enumerated otherwise Fytje, whose husband Roelof Pasman died before the baptism of his daughter Roelifie in September 1695, would most likely have been enumerated with her daughters at a separate number as were Petronella and Engeltje Breda.14
