13 February 1692, the name of Jacobùs was written in the record as Jacob van Edy.⁴

Jacob van Edy was baptized on 13 February 1692 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Stellenbosch, de Caep de Goede Hoop. The baptism was witnessed by Aelie Claas and Ari Gerritsz. This witness has not been positively identified but Aelie Claas is(are) potentially the correct individual(s.)⁴
