Kobus van de Caep1
M, #18655, b. 12 August 1708
Names in the record, in publications, etc. | 29 April 1724, the name of Kobus was written in the record as Kobus van de Caab.3 |
Notes | On 29 April 1724 I have assumed Kobus is the same individual baptised as a slave of Willem ten Damme in 1708. Ten Damme died ca 1714 and 39 unnamed slaves were recorded in the inventory of his estate. It is therefor possible that Jan Stevensz Botma de Jonge purchased him from the estate. Kobus is not a common name among slaves at the time. Corrections welcome.4 |
