Rachael was from Batavia and was perhaps born there in 1663/64. She was said to be 27 or 28 years old in 1691.¹

Slave Transactions

On 28 April 1691 Rachael van Batavia was sold by Theunis Dircksen Schalckwyck to Arije Gerts Prinsloo, for Rds. 100.²
On 11 July 1691 Rachael van Batavia was sold by Arije Gerts Prinsloo to Caspar Etlich, for Rds. 100. It was arranged that Etlig would pay within two years.³
On 29 December 1693 Rachael van Batavia was sold by Caspar Etlich to Jan Cotse, for Rds. 100.⁴
On 18 October 1694 Rachael van Batavia was sold by Jan Kotze to Roeloff van Wijck, for Rds. 115.⁵
