23 January 1689, the name of Heinrich was written in the record as Hendrik Harst.
NotesHeinrich Hartz and Catharina Hartz may have been siblings.1
Slave TransactionsOn 30 November 1686 Pieter van Madagascar was sold by Jan Claas Claver to Heinrich Hartz, for Rds. 52.4
On 6 January 1687 Claas van Malabar was sold by Claas de Beer to Hendrik Hartsz, for Rds. 42. It seems that Böeseken inverted the seller and the buyer. Hartsz was resident at the Cape - this is confirmed by Hattingh. See second citation subsequently added.5,6
Slave EmancipationsOn 17 March 1695 Cecilia van Timor purchased her freedom from Hendrik Hartsz, by paying in vrijcoopspenninge the equivalent of Rds. 80. Harts was returning to Holland.7
On 17 March 1695 Francois van Malabar purchased his freedom from Hendrik Hartsz, for Rds. 60.8
