BirthOrigin*Francis was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there between 1669 and 1672. He was said to be 26 years old in 1698 and 30 years old in 1699.1 
Names in the record, in publications, etc.17 January 1698, the name of Francis was written in the record as Francis Origin Unknown.2
25 March 1698, the name of Francis was written in the record as Francois Origin Unknown.3
Slave TransactionsOn 17 January 1698 Titus van Macassar, Jan van Kissen and Francis van Malabar were sold by Jacob Joppe de Jonge to Samuel Elsevier, for Rds. 200.2
On 25 March 1698 Francis van Malabar was sold by Samuel Elsevier to Pieter Claasen, for Rds. 60. I have assumed this to be the same individual purchased by Elsevier as Francis of unknown provenance in January 1698.3
On 7 April 1699 Francis van Malabar was sold by Pieter Claas to Jan Le Roùx, for f 190, Cape valuation.4
