Scipio was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there between 1681 and 1683. He was said to be both 13 and 15 years old in 1696.¹

Slave Transactions

On 19 January 1696 Adam van Malabar, Aran van Malabar, Claas van Malabar and Scipio van Malabar were sold by Christiaen van Alst to Jan Dircks de Beer, respectively for Rds. 70, Rds. 80, Rds. 85 and Rds. 90.²
On 3 April 1696 Aran van Malabar and Scipio van Malabar were sold by Jan Dircksen de Beer to Diderick Putter, for Rds. 107½ each.³
