Slave Transactions | On 17 December 1669 Pasquael van Bengale was sold by Jochem Marquart to Claes Goselijck, Willem Cornelisz van Ijlpendam and Jurgen Cornelisz, for Rds 100. The purchasers were free Saldanhavaarders.2,3 On 8 June 1679 Pasquael van Bengale was sold by Tobias Marquaert to Theunis Dirks van Schalkwijk, for Rds. 65. I have assumed this to be the same slave sold in 1669 by Jochem Marquaert. Corrections welcome.4 |
