BaptismChristina van de Caep was baptized on 20 April 1692 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop. The baptism was witnessed by Octavius van Macassar and Moses van Bengalen.1
Baptisms - WitnessChristina van de Caep potentially witnessed the baptism of Anna Lucretia van de Caep on 8 March 1705 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), this witness has not been positively identified. Christina was baptised as a child of unknown age in 1692, and is thus far the only person I have identified who fits the profile to be this witness, i.e. a baptised slave named Christina, owned by Simon van der Stel and who evidently associated with the Macassarese slaves he owned.2
Slave BirthsBefore 20 April 1692, Christina van de Caep was born in bondage and was owned by Simon van der Stel de Caep de Goede Hoop.1
