BaptismsPieter van de Caep was baptized on 12 September 1666 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop. The baptism was witnessed by Christina Does and Elbert Diemer.2
Baptisms - WitnessPieter van de Caep potentially witnessed the baptism of Lodewijk Bernardt Walter on 14 December 1710 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk (Cape Town), (Cape Town), this witness has not been positively identified.3
Slave BirthsBefore 12 September 1666, Pieter van de Caep was born in bondage and was owned by Elbert Diemer de Caep de Goede Hoop.1
Slave EmancipationsOn 26 April 1694 Pieter van de Caep was emancipated by Christina Does, on condition that he would faithfully serve her husband Joan Blesius and son Abraham Diemer for a further six years. If he did so, he would receive 150 weaned ewes.4

(Christina was married to Joan Blesius and was a sister of Abraham Diemer.) If he served faithfully during the six year period, he was to receive 150 weaned ewes..
