He married Sophia Appel, daughter of Ferdinandùs Appel and Levina Cloete, on 17 December 1713 de Caep de Goede Hoop.^1,2

Anthonie van Rooyen and Sophia Appel witnessed the baptism of Daniel Walter on 22 May 1712 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town).³
