Slave Emancipations | On 24 March 1696 de Caep de Goede Hoop Maria van Negapatnam was emancipated by Jan Coenraad Visser along with her children Anthony Visser, Susanna Visser and Jacobus Visser. This emancipation was to take effect on Visser's death which would occur by 1700. However the emancipation may only have become fully effective in 1702.3,4 |
