Vrijbriewen and Burgher StatusOn 18 January 1662, Laurens Cornelissen was granted a vrijbrief or letter of freedom which released him from his contractual obligations to the VOC and accorded him the status of vrijburgher or free burgher. His occupation was not recorded.8
Slave TransactionsOn 14 March 1676 Abraham van Malabar was sold by Leendert Maas to Laurens Cornelissen, for Rds. 50.9,10
On 24 March 1677 Abraham van Bengale was sold by Aert Verhoeven to Laurens Cornelissen, for Rds. 50.11,12
