[S646] Precis of the archives of the Cape of Good Hope, JVR Journal II, 1656-1658, H.C.V. Leibrandt; (Cape Town, South Africa: W. A. Richards & Sons, Government Printers, Castle Street, 1897), p.81: An army of tho Chobona keeps them under proper control, and punishes all rebels. This army is of the same nation, dress and language as the Saldahars, and called the Kochoqua. It consists of two sections. The second one is called Gorona, which has nothing else to do than to fight the rebels, and this keeps them constantly busy. They are not successful in their object, as some do not wish to pay the homage to the Chobona which he rerquires as his right. These Kochoqua and Gorona are consequently always engaged in war. When killed they are succeeded by their children, brothers and also sisters.. Hereinafter cited as Precis of the archives, JVR Journal II 1656-1658.
