Misc*

Arie van Bengale was included in a list of Maccassarese royalty — Lijst … de … Macasarschen Princen C.501 — sent from the Cape to the VOC in Batavia. His date of arrival and reason for his banishment were not recorded in Changing Hands. He was in fact recorded as not appearing in any register at the Cape on 5 September 1686.¹
