Anthoin was from Galle, Ceylon, and was perhaps born there circa 1666. The date is estimated. Changing Hands records he was van ’t Nalle, which I am pretty sure is a transcribal error and that he was in fact from Galle.¹

He was included in a list of Maccassarese royalty — Lijst … de … Macasarschen Princen C.501 — sent from the Cape to the VOC in Batavia. His date of arrival and reason for his banishment were not recorded in Changing Hands on 5 September 1686.¹
