Birth*Scipio Christianus was born circa 1687, the date is estimated, he was old enough to profess his faith when baptised in 1707.1

BaptismScipio Christianus was baptized on 25 September 1707 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town). He was named Scipio Christianus at this baptism, I think referring to the fact the he was now a Christian. Only one other individual in this group of baptisms is similarly recorded, that is Titus Christianus who was baptised in 1706 as a privately owned slave, and whom I have assumed to be Titus van Macassar, slave of Samuel Elsevier. The possibility is that both of Samuel Elsevier's slaves were similarly recorded when baptised.2
(Witness) BaptismCandidateTitus van Macassar may be the individual who was baptized on 31 October 1706 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town).
