Jacob was from Zaerdam, (this may be Zaandam), and was perhaps born there circa 1640. Date is estimated.¹

Monsterrollen and Opgaafrollen (Muster and tax rolls)

In 1660 Jacob Jacobsz: Backer was enumerated in the muster roll, he was recorded as from Zaerdam, carpenter.¹
On 1 March 1661 Jacob Jacobsz: Backer was enumerated in the muster roll, he was recorded as from Zardam, carpenter.²
