BirthOrigin*Roeloff was from Oslo at the time called Christiana, and was perhaps born there circa 1630. The date is estimated.1 
Death*He died in 1659 de Caep de Goede Hoop, he was recorded one of the freemen who had died, formerely employed by the Amsterdam Chamber.1
 
(Passenger) ShipVoyage On 22 November 1656 Roeloff Hansz: sailed on the Oranje from the Vlie to de Caep de Goede Hoop where it docked on 17 March 1657.2,3

On 15 February 1658 Jan Reijniersz and Wouter Mostert were enumerated in the muster roll, among the freemen, as owners. Enumerated with them were Jan van Passel, Roeloff Hansz: and Claes Schrijver, described as 'in their service.5'

Vrijbriewen and Burgher StatusOn 30 April 1657, Roeloff Hansz: was granted a vrijbrief or letter of freedom which released him from his contractual obligations to the VOC and accorded him the status of vrijburgher or free burgher. The vrijbrief was signed by Rijcklof van Goens.7
