Decker was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there circa 1680. He was said to be 18 years old in 1698.¹

On 25 July 1698 Decker van Malabar was sold by Johan Mijndertze Kruijwagen to Aaltje Claasz, for Rds. 80.²
