Weggesonken was from Cabo Verde and was perhaps born there circa 1676. He was said to be 22 years old in 1698.¹

Slave Transactions

On 18 April 1698 Weggesonken van Cabo Verde, Behouden van Cabo Verde and Dikbeen van Cabo Verde were sold by Christiaen van Alst to Simon van der Stel, for a lump sum of 130 Spaanse matten.²
