Claas was from the Coromandel Coast and was perhaps born there circa 1678. He was said to be 20 years old in 1698.¹

On 10 March 1698 Claas van de Kust Coromandel was sold by Jasper de Leeuw to Henning Hüsing, for Rds. 40.²
