Angus was from Trancquebar and was perhaps born there in 1685/86. He was said to be 12 or 13 years old in 1698.¹

On 11 January 1698 Angus van Trancquebaer was sold by Cornelis Krijnsz Rood to Simon van der Stel, for Rds. 40.²
