Rachel was from Madagascar and was perhaps born there circa 1679. She was said to be 18 years old 1697.¹

On 13 March 1697 Rachel van Madagascar was sold by Hans Christiaan Holm to Jan Cotse, for Rds. 75.²
On 30 November 1697 Rachel van Madagascar was sold by Jan Kotze to Christian Elers, for Rds. 110.³
