Cornelis would most likely, as Buginese, been from South Sulawesi and was perhaps born there in 1675/76. He was said to be 18 or 19 years old in 1694.¹

On 17 May 1694 Cornelis van Bougis was sold by Cornelis Usselinghs to Willem ten Damme, for Rds. 80.²
