Barneveld was from the Malabar Coast and was perhaps born there in 1668/69. He was said to be 24 or 25 years old in 1693.¹

Slave Transactions

On 31 March 1692 Barneveld van Malabar was sold on behalf of Matthijs de Vlamingh and Ludolph Coulster by Jacobus Swaaf, to Simon van der Stel for Rds. 50.²
