Catrina van Malabar1
F, #15220, b. between 1654 and 1656
Birth* | Catrina van Malabar was born between 1654 and 1656 in Malabar Coast.1 |
Slave Transactions | On 28 September 1686 Catrina van Malabar and Ursula van de Caep were sold by Tobias Marquaert to Abraham Hartogh, for Rds. 35. Ursula was just four months old, but at least she was not alienated from her mother in this transaction.2 On 6 March 1687 Catrina van Malabar and Maria van de Caep were sold by Abraham Hartogh to Roelif Pasman, for Rds. 53. The infant Maria in this transaction fits the age profile to be the same child purchased six months prior by Hartogh, along with her mother Catrina van Malabar, but named Ursula in that transaction.3 |
