Valentijn was from Madagascar and perhaps born there circa 1666.¹

Slave Transactions

On 27 December 1686 Valentijn van Madagascar was sold by Jacobus Broeg to Theunis Dircksen Schalckwyck, for Rds. 42.²
On 5 December 1689 Valentijn van Madagascar was sold by Theunis Dircksen Schalckwyck to Joost Strydom, although Van Schalkwijck bought two slaves named Valentijn van Madagascar in 1686, I have assumed this to be the correct individual for this transaction because he fits the age profile.³
