BirthOrigin*Scipio was from Colombo and was perhaps born there in 1670/71. He was said to be 20 or 21 years old in 1691.1 
Slave EmancipationsOn 24 May 1691 Scipio van Colombo was emancipated by Hermanus Specht, on condition that if Specht or his wife returned to the east, Scipio would accompany them.2
