22 April 1742, the name of Johanna was written in the record as Johanna de Hoog.⁴

Crime and related

Before 17 November 1735 Cabo de Goede Hoop Johanna Hoog was raped by Christiaan Carel van den Bosch. He was subsequently sentenced to execution by firing squad.⁶

Van den Bosch was 'n soldaat afkomstig van Den Haag en is in 1729 met Maria Dorothea Sultania, die dogter van die radja van Tambora en Sara Zytia Marouff, getroud en het in 1734 reeds vier dogters by haar gehad.
     Die verkragter is op 17 November 1735 die doodsvonnis opgelê en het vier dae later voor 'n vuurpeloton gesterf.
