BaptismMaria van de Caep van Sameida was baptized on 6 April 1692 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop. The baptism was witnessed by H. Capt Willem Padt and Andrijs de Man.2 
RacialDesignation* On 6 April 1692 Maria van de Caep van Sameida was described as halfslag, a racial tag meaning she was mixed race, i.e. the father would most likely have been white.
