Tobias Marquaert was born before 8 September 1686 in de Caep de Goede Hoop.¹

Baptism

Tobias Marquaert was baptized on 8 September 1686 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop. The baptism was witnessed by Joannes Guilliamer de Grevenbroeck and Johanna Rosendal.¹

(Child) Departure

After 28 September 1687,Tobias Marquaert and Catharina van den Bergh departed the Cape for Batavia after Tobias was said to have cruelly treated his slaves. They sailed on board one of several vessels destined for East which departed after he sold his slaves in late September. They were accompanied by Reijna Marquaert, Regina Marquaert, Catrina Marquaert, Abigael Marquaert and Tobias Marquaert.^2,3
