    An assumption of slave status has been made regarding this mother and son based on the previous entry in the source document which reads: den 25 Octob is gedoopt van E: Comp. Slavinne . . ., transcribed by Richard Ball, Norfolk, England, (May 2006), Genealogical Society of South Africa, eGSSA Branch http://www.eggsa.org/. Hereinafter cited as Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, Kerken Boek (Bapt.).
