Johanna Bastijans van de Caep1

F, #7960, b. before 16 September 1663
Mother-Candidate*Cecilia van Angola b. c 1649; candidate relationship offered with a view toward further discovery in the record. The relationship suggests itself because Johanna baptised a daughter Cicilia in 16862

Slave Birth - Company OwnedJohanna Bastijans van de Caep was born in bondage before 16 September 1663 and was owned by the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) Johanna Bastijans van de Caep.
BaptismCandidateJohanna Bastijans van de Caep may be the individual who was baptized on 6 September 1665. I believe this to be a stronger candidate baptism for Johanna - the name Flanci in the record could quite easily evolve to Jansi and variants.3

Children
Names in the record, in publications, etc.The name of Johanna appeared as Jannetje van de Caep in the cited publication(s.)4
She may be the same person named as Flanci on 6 September 1665.5,6
4 August 1686, the name of Johanna was written in the record as Janne Bastisans.7
Baptisms - WitnessOn 16 September 1663 (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop, Dom:e Petrus Cassier baptised 12 children, one of 'Netherland Christian' parents, the others were all children of company owned slaves. They were not named but Johanna Bastijans van de Caep were potentially among those baptised on this day.8,9
