He married Lysbeth Spruijt on 13 September 1671 Nederduitsch Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop, they were both off the vessel . . . Wapen van Tergoos op de [rede] leggende . . ., i.e. lying offshore and perhaps enroute elsewhere.¹
