Arrival* On 12 December 1666, Dom:e Jacobus Burenius arrived at the Cape from Goeree on board the Diemermeer.3 
Occupation* Between 12 December 1666 and 12 February 1667 Dom:e Jacobus Burenius was NGK Minister (Cape Town), de Caep de Goede Hoop.4,5 
Emigration* On 12 February 1667 Dom:e Jacobus Burenius and Elisabeth van Arckel left the Cape on board the Vreyheyt enroute to Batavia.6

Brought 5 or 6 sick, who were transferred to the Hospital. Deaths in Hospital of Oudeman Oudemansz:, sailor of the Opperdoes, and Dirk Wouters, soldier, left here by the Gerechtigheijt.. During the afternoon the vessels leave, the Vryheyt taking with her the newly-married minister Buremus. May the Almighty guide her in safety.
