Gabriel Stols was born circa 1670, the date is estimated based on his inclusion in the opgaaf of 1695.¹

Willem Stolts+ b. 25 Jan 1694, d. b 3 Oct 1750; This candidate relationship is offered with a view toward further discovery in the record. Willem was baptised in Stellenbosch the year prior to this opgaaf. Some published research and genealogies say Willem was the son of Gottfried Stoltz - this is not possible, Gottfied only arrived at the Cape in 1712¹
