Birth*Catharina NN was born circa 1680, The date is estimated, her origin is unknown. In 1693 there were three adult female slaves named Catherina in the Slave Lodge, one of whom was both heelslag and locally born, i.e. van de Caep - and who would therefor qualify to be the mother of a halfslag child; and there was also a Malagasy adult slave stationed at the Hottentots-Holland Buijten Pos also named Catherina and who would therefor also qualify to be the mother of Godfried. However, there are no subsequent enumerations after 1693 which might identify other candidates.1
