Birth*

Mari van de Caep was born circa 1681 in de Caep de Goede Hoop, The date is estimated, I am assuming Catarina is her first child. Child bearing age in the period seems to have been 12-15.¹

On 23 September 1696 Mari van de Caep and Catarina van de Caep van Mari van de Caep were enslaved and owned by the VOC (Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie) at the Cape.¹
