BaptismJannes van de Caep was baptized on 29 January 1708 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town). The baptism was witnessed by Rebecca van de Caep and Maria van Bengale. This witness has not been positively identified but Maria van Bengale is(are) potentially the correct individual(s.)2
Slave BirthsBefore 29 January 1708, Jannes van de Caep was born in bondage and was owned by Gerrit Victor de Caep de Goede Hoop, it is possible that the three siblings baptised on 29 Jan 1708 were a triplet, but this is not stated in the record.1
