Barbera Johanna Letters was born before 6 October 1697 in de Caep de Goede Hoop, she also have been born on board ship enroute to the Cape, as this family appears to have been en passant.¹

Barbera Johanna Letters was baptized before 6 October 1697 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town). The baptism was witnessed by Josina Huydemans and Jodocus Pistoris.²
