Pieternella van de Caep1
F, #17888, b. before 16 October 1701
Birth* | Pieternella van de Caep was born before 16 October 1701 in de Caep de Goede Hoop, I have assumed this to be the correct mother-daughter relationship, due to the fact that the baptism was recorded amongst those of the free population, and that Sara van Macassar married a few years later in the same church. Slaves were not permitted to marry formally. Corrections are welcome. In my view the father could have been one of three individuals, namely: Abraham van Macassar, Abram van Macassar and Hannibal van Macassar. I have yet to identify manumissions for either Abraham nor Abram, prior to the baptism of this child. Hannibal on the other hand was manumitted in 1692 and married Sara in 1705.1 |
Baptism | Pieternella van de Caep was baptized on 16 October 1701 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town).2 |
