Johannes de Wael was born before 16 April 1724 in de Caep de Goede Hoop.²

Baptism

Johannes de Wael was baptized on 16 April 1724 Nederduitsche Gereformeerde Kerk, (Cape Town). While the infant in this baptism is named as Johanna, I believe it to be the baptism of Johannes de Waal who married Adriana Strijdom in 1743. There is no other baptism that fits the criteria, including chronology. The parents baptised a daughter, Johanna, four years later.³

Marriage*

He married Adriana Strijdom, daughter of Joannes Strydom and Judith Schröder, on 29 September 1743 (Cape Town).⁴
